Sorry the image is a bit blurry but the light in the house is crappy and my camera couldn't take a decent photo. -pouts-
Well, this is another installment of horses so enjoy. I painted this a week ago for my Mom on her birthday. She really loves the plum colour. (acrylics) They so fun to paint with, ever since my art AS final piece I've loved painting with them.
The manes were so annoying to paint. WAAaaa. I want a horse!!!
Oh. My. Freaking. This is... just... I... gllllrraahhghh X_______x;;;; My tongue has been twisted and superglued in place - I can't say nything constructive at all...
Firstly, the colours - I actually ADORE the use of the blue, red, yellow - you've used them in a way that I wouldn't even have dared to try. Shading - how on earth do you blend so well with acrylics??? It's probably just my inexperience with them (about the most successful attempt I've had with them ended up on my face) but it's smooth, yet with a few really awesome brushstrokes shining through which I find really cool Content - how on earth do you draw -never mind paint- horses so well?? Just- just- oh. Methinks I'm getting too excited... xDD
... Y-yeah. Why more peole haven't favourited this I have no idea, but whatever. Their loss. This is brilliant; your mum is really lucky

Ok. Uh... You blend acrylics by passing a slightly dry brush over the undertones so you get shading and things when you want the bottom layer to show up. It helps when the first bits dry because then you can paint over them and not smudge. To be honest I'm not fully sure of how I did it >.< Gahh.
I love combining Yellows and blues I haven't really gone for the plum colour before but it was my mom's favorite so... I'm glad you liked them. Seriously playing around with colour is amazing. It's so much more relaxing than shading with pencils. It's really great once you know what colours don't mix like the complementaries and things.
Horses are my favourite animal to draw. They are just so beautiful. I've been drawing them all my life so I have got a pretty good basis for painting them. Can't do anything else though. MY dog's usually look pretty horrific.
Many many many thanks.

You are indeed welcome Yeah, it IS quite large, but it's all filler and no actual content (this is what happens when Selina is overwhelmed)
Oooooh!! Thanks for explaining! Even if it's only a little bit, I think I understand this whole "painting" business a bit more Yup, the plum colour really works! (although I might just be saying that because I like warm colours. They make me feel warm 8D) I totally agree with the colour-playing - when I used to take Art I would spend ages just mixing colours... I still couldn't paint for peanuts, though D: As for complementaries and all that, all I know is that red+green=Christmas =]
Yea, horses are such majestic animals... I've never really drawn any animals, though - I've tried drawing those little pokemon before, but apart from that... Well. I'm envious of your horse-filled childhood
